Lan Las is a traditional 3 bedroom family house less than a mile from Carmarthen town centre and close also to the West Wales (Glangwili) hospital.Set on a wooded hillside, house and garden have panoramic views over farmland, Merlin's Hill and the Towy valley beyond. This is a comfortable and well equipped house with many 1930s features, where you will be assured of peace and quiet and a warm welcome.Ideally located for touring, west to the Pembrokeshire coast, and east to the Black Mountain, Lan Las is also in walking distance of Carmarthen's Roman amphitheatre, ancient church of St Peter's and Cwmoernant pools picnic site.The house is owned by the Bere family. Gwilym has worked locally as an archaeologist for over 30 years and Sally, formerly a housekeeper with the Landmark Trust, hand carves letters on slate and stone.We accept short bed and buffet breakfast bookings; Lan Las is also let as a self catering unit for longer breaks.

At the end of the M4 (Junction 49) continue towards Carmarthen on the A48 (T).At approach to Carmarthen town (end of duel carriageway) there is a large roundabout: Take 2nd exit (STRAIGHT AHEAD) signed A40 Fishguard; over the river Towy via Pont Lesneven road bridge.Get into middle lane to Turn RIGHT (3rd exit) at next (A40) roundabout, following sign for Town Centre (A4242)At mini roundabout turn LEFT into Morfa Lane, follow signs for Town Centre, passing the Park on your left.(Keep in middle lane STRAIGHT ON at traffic lights =turning for Tescos) At mini roundabout turn RIGHT into Catherine St.Go straight on at main traffic lights at crossroadsSTRAIGHT ON at 2 sets of lights by DEBENHAMS (shopping centre)Take 2nd LEFT (opposite Tracey's hairdresser) Barn RoadWATERLOO TERRACE continue up hill.Take 2nd RIGHT: WELLFIELD RD stay on Wellfield Rd for c 300ydsLEFT at sign for Erw Hir care home: SPRINGFIELD RDBear RIGHT at top of hill.
